Custom orders generally take 4-8 weeks to complete, depending on the complexity of the design, and the current workload. Orders submitted under 4 weeks from their due date will be subject to a $250 rush fee.
A $50 non-refundable appointment fee is required to schedule an in-person consultation. If you decide to move forward with your custom piece, this fee will be deducted from your final total. Failure to show up, or showing up later than 15 minutes past your scheduled consultation start time will result in forfeit of the fee.
Consultations are generally 1-2 hours and are conducted in my studio in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn. During this time, if you haven’t already sent me inspiration ahead of time, we will discuss your inspiration and I will design a garment for you. I will take full body measurements so if you wear any shape wear under your latex, please bring it with you to your consultation. We will also look at colors available.
Customers not local to NYC will not be charged a consultation fee, however responsibility for accurate measurements will rest with the purchaser.
Estimates & Invoicing
A pricing estimate will be emailed to you after your consultation. Acceptance of the estimate, along with your deposit, confirms your agreement to this policy.
Please note all garments are subject to New York Sales Tax. Sales tax will be added on your final invoice. We accept cash, PayPal (email@example.com), and all major credit cards. Payment is also availble direct through the invoice. Payment plans available upon request.
I require a non-refundable $200 deposit before any work is started. Your deposit is considered a commit-to-buy.
Fittings are scheduled for 1 hour. All custom garments are fitted to your exact measurements. We do a total of 3 fittings for each piece. After the 3rd fitting, your balance is due and you will be able to take your garment home.
For customers not local to NYC, this process is done via mail. A rough garment will be shipped to you, at your expense, for a fitting with any fit issues to be corrected afterwards.
If you are local to NYC, private one-on-one consultations and fittings are a part of the custom design process. It is imperative to show up to your scheduled appointment on time. I understand traffic and subways can cause delays, so I allow a 15 minute grace period. Arrivals beyond that will incur an additional $25 per 15 minutes added to your final balance due.
24 hours is required for appointment cancellation. If the appointment is cancelled in under 24 hours, this will incur an additional $25 charge added to your final balance due.
Appointments are available during the week starting at 1pm until 6pm. Saturdays are available between 1pm and 3pm. Additional evening and weekend appointments may be available by special request only. Please note availability may change without notice.
Changes to your design during the process will incur additional charges at my discretion. Charges will depend on what the change is, and when in the process you wish to make the change.
Once a deposit has been submitted, you have committed to purchasing your custom piece. Cancellations mid process will result in full forfeit of the garment and any monies put down prior `to cancellation. All custom orders are considered final sale.
KLD Custom Guarantee
I guarantee that I will not reproduce this garment for the KLD line, or for any other customer.* You will truly own a one-of-a-kind custom piece! I also guarantee my product - if you have any issues with manufacture, please bring it back and it will be analyzed for alteration or repair. Please note, this does not apply for items damaged due to mishandling or improper care.
*This does not apply to made-to-measure or commonly styled garments.
Some individuals are sensitive and/or allergic to latex and/or rubber intended for extended skin contact. Such sensitivity and/or allergic reaction can be severe. Kirsten Li Designs recommends the customer do a small skin patch test prior to the purchasing of the garment. The customer agrees that Kirsten Li Designs, LLC shall not be responsible for any such sensitivity and/or allergic reaction the customer may experience as a result of wearing the Kirsten Li Designs apparel. Furthermore, the customer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Kirsten Li Designs, LLC., its officers, employees, agents, successors and assigns from any and all such claims whether based on contract, tort, or any other legal theory.
